News: The Kaimanawa Wall
This is fascinating. A seemingly ancient man-made wall in New Zealand. Theories abound about it's origins. It could be a natural occurance - but it sure looks man-made. If so, possibly pre-dating European settlement. Most likely made by the Moriori (or Waitaha) people who settled NZ before the Maori. For some reason it reminds me of the lost temple discovered in Peter Jackson's "Forgotten Silver".

News: Ecology 101: Mining is BAD
The process of mining (especially open cast/pit mining) produces large quantities of toxic waste - containing such yummy substances like arsenic, lead and mercury. Obviously this reduces populations of organisms down-stream from the mine.
Mining companies are pushing hard to extract huge lodes of gold and copper up-stream from Bristol Bay. A bay that already supports many diverse ecosystems. I feel an environmental disaster in the making...

News: Things to tell your kids
Bill Gates keeps going up in my estimates. Recently he told some school kids some important life lessons. Who knows if it's true he did this - but they're great things to teach kids of today.

Organisms that can survive in space
There are more organisms from Earth that can survive in space that we first thought: lichens (of course), one or two larvae, hardy seeds and amazingly some insects. Have a read of this experiment that's taking place on the International Space Station:

News: So that's what Crop Circles are made by...
Well, some of them anyway. Underground structures like old barrows, burial chambers, henges and so on. Much like the strange patterns in the grass I noticed at Greenwich park - which turned out to be caused by Roman walls below ground. These things interfere with the way plants grow - hence crop circles.
This came to light in the recent discovery of a massive archaeological site not far from Stonehenge in England.

News: Reflecting Gravity waves
Following on from Podlikov's work on gravity shielding - it looks like other scientists are realising that superconductors can actually reflect gravity. Here's an interesting article regarding geodesic gravity displacement. Need I mention Geostatic or Magnostrat theory to anyone? (Read Majellan and you'll know what I mean!)

News: How to find ancient cities
Google Earth and other such tools can be used to find archaeological sites. The best method is to use infrared satellite images but spotting them using the naked eye is also possible.
