3. Stepping from behind the rock face.
Standing with eyes unflinching.
Gaining momentum as I start to run.
Ignoring the heat, fear and blindness I tear into its heart.
Melted I am become anew.
Shining so clear in the sun.
I am no more.
2. I feel the blood running hot where it lives within you.
Strange how I can see clearly through your eyes
when mine are blinded with tears?
How fear grips us like a dragon's claw.
It is only now that I realise that nothing can hold me back. I am stronger than all of this.
The tide peeled me back to my bones.
New skin rises in its place.
It burns hot.
Blood like the sun.
1. Fire burns in the dark.
Eyes flick away the tears.
I've said my dark words
and spilled tainted lies.
I turn from the dark,
my companion all these years,
and face the sun.
I brace myself for the crush of its embrace.
