New HiTech News: Finally the 21st Century gets closer

When I think of the 21st Century AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE - I think of flying cars, space ships and robots. So far all we've managed to get is a jet-pack and it took a Kiwi to do it I might add! (Excuse me for feeling patriotic at this point). click here to see the Martin Jetpack- made in NZ

Mass Destruction Anyone? News: Siberian Methane Leak

New research in the Arctic show that methane locked on the sea floor is now bubbling to the surface at a rapid rate. Although small in comparison to the amount of greenhouse gas being added to the atmosphere by human activity it is significant and points to further methane "leaks" to come. As the temperature rises more frozen methane will be freed, which will heat the atmosphere further. Don't you love feedback loops? click here to read the ScienceNews article

New HiTech News: Writing from the brain

I remember reading Frank Herbert's Dune series where a machine could convert your thoughts into written text. Well, it looks like that technology (in its infant form) is finally here. click here to read

Dripfeeds from The Elite News: Meanest and Greenest car to date?

The Mercedes F800 concept car looks dead evil (which I like by the way). It can be configured either as a hybrid or hydrogen cell powered demon (I'm plugging for hydrogen - I think it has the best potential) click here to read

Written Material News: of Monsters and Men board game

While I'm finishing off the "Kasha Flat-top" scenario (a straight all-out battle campaign for those of you who like to get their hands dirty) I came up with this board game.
Download it here (http://www.majellan.net/BoardGames/) or from RPG Now! Give it a go :)

Mass Destruction Anyone? News: Designer killers

The US is going to design killer organisms for military purposes. What these things will look like or do is the thing I'd like to know. Apparently they will have loyalty programmed in and an emergency off switch. Is it me or has no one seen Jurassic Park? click here to read the Wired article

Other Topics Organisms that can survive in space

There are more organisms from Earth that can survive in space that we first thought: lichens (of course), one or two larvae, hardy seeds and amazingly some insects. Have a read of this experiment that's taking place on the International Space Station: click here to read
